This innovative tool, rolling out within the Creator Music marketplace, allows users to conjure custom backing tracks using simple text prompts, opening up a world of creative possibilities and offering a royalty-free alternative to traditional music licensing.The update, announced on YouTube's Creator Insider channel, is initially available to creators in the YouTube Partner Program who have access to Creator Music. This platform, launched in 2023, was designed to simplify the process of finding and licensing music for videos. Now, with the integration of AI, creators have an even more flexible and cost-effective option at their fingertips.Within Creator Music, users will find a new “Music Assistant” tab. Here, they can describe the type of music they envision, specifying details such as instruments, mood, and the video's theme. The AI then generates instrumental tracks based on these prompts, providing creators with unique and tailored soundtracks. YouTube also offers suggested prompts to inspire users and guide them through the creative process.Once the AI generates the tracks, creators can download them and seamlessly integrate them into their videos. This allows creators to focus on their content without the added stress of navigating complex music rights.This feature builds upon YouTube's earlier experiments with AI music generation, including “Dream Track,” powered by DeepMind’s Lyria. While Dream Track initially focused on creating 30-second music clips in the style of famous artists, the current implementation focuses solely on instrumental music and is being integrated into Creator Music.
