Samsung Electronics just locked in a massive exclusive deal with Activision, becoming the official TV, monitor, soundbar, and Wi-Fi speaker partner for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4. The blockbuster shooter franchise, widely known as a critically acclaimed and award-winning intellectual property, will see its newest title drop on October 23.
Hun Lee, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, stated the collaboration aims to bring players a more immersive experience using Samsung’s premium audio and display technologies. This agreement marks another step in the tech giant's push to expand connected gaming services worldwide.
Hardware Integration and Display Upgrades
The tie-up brings direct support for Samsung's HDR10+ GAMING format to the new shooter. This technology boosts color accuracy and contrast, delivering an immersive visual experience that reflects the exact creative intent of the developers.
Modern Warfare 4 is also fully embracing a sprawling 32:9 super ultrawide aspect ratio. Samsung Odyssey G9 users can stretch their field of view in this wider format to gain a much broader sense of space during intense battlefield moments.
Cody Neal, Head of Partnerships at Activision, noted the hardware giant helps the studio deliver top-tier gameplay. He emphasized that partnering with Samsung allows the developer to showcase the game with a level of clarity, scale, and responsiveness that complements the intense action at the heart of the franchise.
Exclusive Beta Access and Live Events
Samsung Gaming Hub users can catch the Call of Duty: NEXT stream live on August 21 at 9 am PST. Ahead of the broadcast, a dedicated tune-in banner promoting the event will be featured directly in the Samsung TV Gaming Hub masthead.
To sweeten the deal, Samsung is handing out Beta Early Access codes directly through the Samsung Promotion app. Selected players who secure a code can jump right into the Modern Warfare 4 Beta running from August 21-25. After that early window closes, the general Open Beta kicks off on August 28 and runs through September 1.
Fans heading to Cologne, Germany, for Gamescom 2026 can grab early hands-on time at the Samsung booth from August 26-30. The massive convention, operating this year under the theme “Games Spark Excitement for the Future,” drew 360,000 visitors last year and features roughly 1,500 companies. Select players stopping by the floor setup will even walk away with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 Vault Edition Battle.net game codes.
Interactive Smart TV Features and Reach
Beyond raw display hardware, the tech giant is building fresh ways for fans to engage with the franchise right from their living rooms. The Six, a popular interactive trivia game integrated directly into Samsung Smart TVs, is rolling out a limited-time run of Call of Duty-themed questions and visuals. Designed by fans, for fans, the co-branded trivia battle challenges players’ knowledge regarding the world of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Any owner of a supported TV can simply pick up their remote to dive into the action.
Samsung has also proven its ability to effectively engage massive gaming audiences through targeted platforms. Leveraging Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) data derived from more than 72 million Smart TVs in the U.S., the company previously helped Activision reach 10 million gaming households during the Modern Warfare II launch. That campaign successfully delivered 83 million impressions and achieved a 15.7% conversion rate among exposed gamers.
