Android-toting Hasselblad photographers, your 16-year wait is over. The legendary Swedish camera maker has finally brought its Phocus Mobile app to Android, shattering a long-held exclusivity on Apple’s iOS platform.

This launch plugs a major hole in Hasselblad's ecosystem, bringing its powerful mobile workflow to the vast majority of smartphone users. The move lands six years after the nearly identical Phocus Mobile 2 debuted for the iPhone, signaling a major strategic shift for the brand.

A Professional Workflow, Untethered

The new app brings a comprehensive mobile editing suite to Hasselblad’s latest medium-format cameras, including the X2D 100C and 907X & CFV 100C. Photographers can now review, edit, and export images directly from their Android devices over Wi-Fi or a direct USB-C connection.

At the heart of the experience is the Hasselblad Natural Color Solution (HNCS). This ensures the brand’s signature color fidelity and smooth tonal gradations are preserved from the camera's live view straight through to the final export.

The app also leverages native Android HDR support. On compatible devices, images from the X2D 100C will display deeply intricate shadow detail and luminous highlights that closely mirror what the human eye perceives.

Hasselblad's AI Promises Cleaner RAWs

A standout feature is the new AI-driven RAW noise reduction algorithm, targeting high-ISO, low-light shooting scenarios. The AI offers a choice between "Purity Mode," which prioritizes suppressing noise for the cleanest possible image, and "Detail Mode," which retains finer textures by preserving luminance noise.
