Samsung Internet users may soon experience a significant upgrade to their browsing experience. Currently, Samsung's Galaxy AI offers a useful feature that allows users to summarize news articles and webpages directly within the Samsung Internet browser. This functionality, known as Browsing Assist, leverages Galaxy AI to provide quick summaries, saving users time and effort. However, the future holds even greater potential through a collaboration between Samsung and Google. The two tech giants are reportedly working on integrating Google's Gemini AI assistant into Samsung Internet. This integration would allow Gemini to access and summarize webpages viewed within the browser. According to reports, a beta version of the Google app already hints at this capability. Users can summon Gemini, tap “Ask about this screen,” and then type “summarize” to initiate the process. Currently, Gemini can only use a screenshot of the visible portion of the webpage for summarization, but the ultimate goal is for Gemini to extract the full URL and content of the page. The ability to extract the full URL would enable Gemini to create far more accurate and comprehensive summaries, as it would have access to all the information on the page, not just what is visible on the screen. While this feature is not yet available to the public, it is actively being developed behind the scenes by Google and Samsung. The expectation is that it will be rolled out to Samsung Internet users in the coming months, pending further development and testing. This enhancement is part of a broader effort to deepen the integration of Google's AI capabilities into Samsung's ecosystem. Looking ahead, Samsung's One UI 7.0 is expected to feature even tighter integration between Samsung's stock apps and Gemini. Samsung has already collaborated with Google to integrate Gemini with apps like Samsung Calendar, Samsung Notes, and Samsung Reminder. The potential for deeper integration with Samsung Internet suggests a future where AI-powered features are seamlessly woven into the fabric of the user experience, making Samsung devices even more intuitive and efficient. The collaboration between Samsung and Google signifies a commitment to pushing the boundaries of mobile AI and delivering innovative solutions to users.
