Apple has introduced a new version of the Mac mini, upgrading its supersmall desktop design with the all-new M6 and M5 Pro chips. Available for pre-order starting August 25, 2026, and launching on September 22, this update positions the machine as a highly capable tool for both everyday productivity and always-on agentic computing.

The M5 Pro Configuration
For intensive workloads like video rendering and game development, the M5 Pro directly targets high-end studio professionals requiring substantial local compute capacity. It scales up to an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU, the latter featuring third-generation ray tracing.
With support for up to 64GB of unified memory and massive 307GB/s memory bandwidth, the M5 Pro is designed to handle complex 3D scenes and load large custom research datasets locally. Real-world benchmarks show up to 4.5x faster ray-tracing rendering in Blender compared to the M2 Pro model.
