Apple is quietly but aggressively trying to own the sports fan's second screen. As of today, February 23, 2026, the Apple Sports app is live in 36 additional countries across Latin America and the Caribbean, pushing the app's global footprint to 80 countries.
Originally launched in the US, Canada, and the UK in February 2024, the app has steadily grown past its subsequent rollouts in Europe and Mexico. This latest wave introduces the service to major markets, including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and Peru.
Integrating Major Latin Soccer Leagues
To back up the Latin American rollout, Apple added six major regional men's soccer leagues directly into the app. Version 3.8 now tracks live stats and standings for the following competitions:
-
Campeonato Brasileiro Série A
-
Categoría Primera A
-
Liga de Primera
-
Liga Pro
-
Liga Profesional de Fútbol
-
Primera División del Perú
Real-Time NCAA Tournament Tracking
Version 3.8 also brings a major upgrade to the domestic collegiate sports experience: live tracking for the men's and women's NCAA tournaments.
Fans get dedicated, visual brackets right in the app. These interactive brackets map out specific matchups and update results at a glance as teams advance through each round.
Scaling the Software Ecosystem
This sports app update lands right in the middle of a busy software cycle. Apple is currently testing iOS 26.3.1 ahead of an expected release in the next two weeks.
