An Overview of the Anker MindBase
At the IFA tech show in Berlin, Anker announced the launch of the Anker MindBase, an AI home hub designed to act as a central brain for your smart home. This hub is meant to work with almost 100 Anker devices, as well as Matter-enabled smart home devices from other companies. The Anker MindBase offers a local solution for advanced AI processing of camera footage and acts as a smart home hub that supports Matter connectivity.
Anker MindBase Specs: Local Storage and AI Compute
In addition to working as a standard smart home hub, the MindBase functions as a NAS and supports up to 48TB of local storage. This allows users to store files, photos, and videos locally on the device. The system is equipped with an AI Core compute card and the on-device Anker TrueSmart AI Agent.
Security is the first use case for this new hardware. Anker says the on-device AI evaluates events in real time to assess risk and respond through observation, lighting, verbal warnings, or active deterrence. Furthermore, processing your footage locally ensures it never leaves your home.
Expanding the Ecosystem: New Eufy Security Cameras
Anker is also debuting several new home security products to pair with the system:
- Eufy Video Doorbell S4: A wired doorbell and security camera combo featuring a 9-megapixel lens with 3K resolution and a 180-degree field of view.
- Eufy Window Camera E10: Designed for use in rentals, this camera mounts on the inside of a window, records in 2.5K resolution, and features anti-glare optics with a 25-degree adjustable tilt.
- Eufy Fall Detection Sensor: A non-wearable, wall-mounted sensor that uses mmWave radar sensing to detect falls without using a camera, while supporting two-way communication.
- Eufy NVR Security System E50: This system pairs an 8-channel network video recorder with four hybrid bullet pan-tilt-zoom dual-lens cameras. These units include a 2K resolution wide-angle bullet lens and a motorized 4K resolution PTZ lens.
